Empowering Motherhood
Motherhood is something I dreamed of ever since I was just a little girl, and to be honest I can already tell I have passed this dream on to my little girl. Considering that when we watch videos farm animals give birth, she is says “Aw, he is so cute!” She even says this before it is all cleaned up and actually "cute".
With motherhood being something that I have always wanted to do, I am able to recognize that it comes with a lot of joy AND frustration. I am not saying that it comes easy, by all means, but I think motherhood (like anything) takes time to truly shine and feel good about what you are accomplishing. Even when you feel like you've got it under control, you have your days where you thinking you are completely screwing up horrifically and your kids are doomed for life.
However...
Did you know you where made PERFECT for each and every one of your children? AMEN. Isn't it incredible that God blessed us with these children to call our own? His child; he has trusted us to nurture, protect, and teach them in the world. What an amazing opportunity! I often take a second (and sometimes many many minutes) and get lost in the thought of how blessed I truly am to have such a big responsibility entrusted to me from my heavenly father.
All in all, Mother, is the best title I could ever have. Did you know you can still embrace your motherly characteristics even if you are not technically a mother??
Maybe you don't have kids or can't have kids, but that doesn't mean that God doesn't want this for you or that he doesn't want to use you for his goodness. He has so many children in his kingdom that need you and that you may be perfectly made for. This could be you serving in the kids ministry at church? Maybe this is you getting involved in some youth programs? Maybe this is you helping your dear friends who have become parents and loving their kids just as hard? There are so many ways to be a steward to children and teach them the light of Jesus.
In teaching my own children, I hope that I can lead by example, that they can go spread the joy and light of Jesus thereby leading more people to him so that they may receive his everlasting life and forgiveness.
