Oil Spotlight: Your Favorite Green Oils for St. Patty's Day

We are close to a holiday full of the color green, so I thought it would be fitting to dig in a little deeper into our essential oils that have a green label. However, I didn’t realize how many green oils I have in my doTERRA collection of oils.  There are a ton.  So instead of digging into all of them I am picking just a couple to share on a deeper level.  These are ones that I would consider to be less popular, but that I/we love.

I love, love, love the smell of all three of these as well as their multi purpose uses. Let’s get started.

Cardamom:

The main component in our Breathe blend which means it is an amazing essential oil to support respiratory issues.  It is also very gentle so for your little ones under the age of one this would be my go to oil for congestion paired with Frankincense. Another great use for this oil it to aid in indigestion/digestive issues.  I like to pair it with Wild Orange and apply over esophagus, stomach, and feet to support these types of ailments.  It is also a well known spice for flavoring food and drinks so play around with it and see if you like it internally too (bread, meat, smoothies, salads, etc.)

Coriander:

Fresh and herbaceous aroma that brings so much calming and relaxation.  It comes from the seed of the cilantro herb.  This is one I would compare to lavender when it comes to its relaxation/calming properties.  We  love to use it in the diffuser.  It blends well with clove, ginger, lavender, and peppermint. Other benefits of its aroma are energy, emotional balance, or nervous exhaustion.  It is also great for nausea, itchy skin/rash, as well as any joint discomfort.

Lemongrass:

This essential oil boasts many health-promoting benefits.  It is used in cooking and loved for its subtle lemony flavor and aroma.  It is great for digestive health and cleansing properties both internally and environmentally.  We love to use this in our cleaners especially in the bathroom or in the bottom of the trash can as its great for deodorizing too. One last thing that we really enjoy using lemongrass for is joint, tendon, and ligament discomforts either from injury or being overworked.

Of all our green oils, I thought these three would be ones that everyone could learn more about and they truly are ones that we love.  It was hard to just pick three because obviously there are a few in that we use often and NEVER do not have in our collection such as Tea Tree, Oregano, Balance, etc but it is important to be continually learning!  They are also all $26 or less, so great price too.

Which green oils are you favorite? Which one do you have on your wish list??
