Summer Hair + Skin Care

Summer is one of my favorite seasons because there is so much to do and enjoy.  Most of those things for my family involve being outdoors in the sun.  There are a few things that I like to do to make sure that I am taking care of my skin and hair so that I can continue to enjoy that sunshine and do all the things we love doing while feeling good in my body.

1. Whole Body:

The Lifelong Vitality supplements. Nutrition is a HUGE piece of the puzzle when it comes to not only how we feel but also how we look too.  

2. Hair:

This amazing protectant and detangler recipe we will apply to hair both before enjoying the pool (chlorine/chemicals) or beach.  We will apply again after as a treatment for the harsh chemicals we exposed and dipped our beautiful locks in. The water play can really wreck havoc on those beautiful locks.

Recipe:

  • 3 T DoTERRA conditioner

  • 10 drops Lemon (cleanser to strip hair of build up. Warning may lighten your hair color too)

  • 10 drops Cedarwood (Support healthy hair growth)

  • 20 drops Rosemary (repair whats been damaged)

  • 20 drops Lavender (repair whats been damaged)

  • Mixed in a 16oz spray bottle topped with water

  • Shake and spray

3.  Feet:

These two right here are a combo that my barefoot/ sandal wearing feet really benefit from.  The scrub I use all over my feet but especially on my heals, rinse, pat dry, and followed up with our nourishing, rich, and thick body butter.  Leaves my feet feeling and looking smooth. I do this at least three times a week.n

4.  Skin:

I use the hand and body lotion along with a drop or two of both Lavender and Helichrysum to keep my skin hydrated reducing the appearance of wrinkle and promotes glowing, youthful skin.  I use this combo on my whole body including my face throughout the day but especially after an hour or more in the sun.

5.  Water Intake: 

Another huge roll to not only how you feel physically but how you look too.  Have fun with your water intake this summer spicing it up with one of our awesome citrus oils. Lemon, Lime, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Wild Orange just to name a few.  



6.  Sunscreen: 

This is another important part of keeping your skin looking and feeling good.  Sunshine is not all bad for you and if you get good natural sunscreen you are letting the good rays in and keeping the harmful ones out.  Not to mention with natural sunscreen you are NOT putting harsh chemicals directly onto your skin.  Labels are misleading so do your research.  From prior blogs you know we only use @Elkhaart sunscreen.  If you get to much sun I strongly suggest this recipe to help your skin recover.
