Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning FTE

Spring has sprung! Life is blooming all around, things are coming alive again, and these refreshing new feelings around give a boost of energy.  I have been purging and digging into cleaning projects that I have hardly touched all winter long. Cleaning doesn't have to be filled with toxic items to be effective.  It also doesn't have to be complicated.  You can disinfect and clean effectively with the following products which are either a simple inexpensive DIY or directly bought from doTERRA.

Our Cleaning cabinet consists of the following:

DoTERRA Oils:

  • Melaleuca

  • Lemon

  • Purify

  • Wild Orange

  • Arborvitae

DoTERRA Products :

  • On Guard Cleaning Concentrate

  • On Guard Hand Soap

  • On Guard Laundry Soap

  • Diffuser

Others:

  • Baking Soda

  • Vinegar

  • Rubbing Alcohol

  • Water

There are so many reasons to detoxify your cleaning cabinet.  To name just a few: hormone disrupting/reproductive abilities, respiratory issues, skin irritations, immunes systems, and so many others.

To keep our home clean

Diffuser: I love to diffuse to cleanse and purify the air.  There is also something about diffusing uplifting, energizing, and motivating citrus oils while cleaning to amp up the energy level and getting some great therapeutic benefits while I work.  I also like to use the diffuser when we have an unexpected guest drop by.  My house may not actually be clean but by golly within a few minutes of getting my diffuser running my house smells clean.

On Guard cleaning concentrate: We use this for EVERYTHING! This one bottle will make (18) 16oz all purpose spray bottles.  2 Tbsp of concentrate is all it takes to make one all purpose spray bottle.  It is effective, natural, and will save you money! You can not go wrong.  Dishes, counters, tile, walls, toys, high chair, in the camper, kiddie pool, outside of toilet, shower, um.. do you get the picture? I told you … EVERYTHING.

Glass and Mirrors: 8 oz spray bottle filled with 1/2 cup white vinegar, 10 drops of lemon, 1 T Rubbing alcohol (this is what prevents streaks), top spray bottle with distilled water, and shake before each use.(LINK TO THE LEMON DIY)

Toilets:  I use the all purpose spray for the outside of the toilet.  For the inside I will sprinkle baking soda , add 5 drops of tea tree, then pour in vinegar, and scrub while ingredients react together.  Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes before flushing.

Dusting: 1 cup water, 2 tsp olive oil, 1/4 cup of vinegar, 5 drops lemon, 5 drops wild orange, and 5 drops arborvitae.

Vacuum:  Put a few drops of your favorite oil on your vacuum filter and enjoy therapeutic benefits as it fills the room with a beautiful aroma.

Room freshener:  The diffuser is great for freshening up the smell in a room but I also make a Poo-pourri spray for in the bathroom and a linen spray for the sheets before bedtime.  Fill spray bottle with desired oils + water (optional vodka or witch hazel) shake before each use and enjoy.

Produce wash: On Guard hand soap/ Lemon oil —Find details here.
