Money Saving Hacks using Doterra

We are a family of 6 and to be completely honest nothing lasts very long in this house, especially the food. I am always looking for ways to make my dollar go farther, whether it is grocery related or not. Today I am going to talk about a few ways that we as a family have learned to stretch our dollar with Doterra products.

Laundry Soap:

All our our On Guard products are highly concentrated, meaning a little bit goes a really long way.  We have been using this hack for months and I can tell you it is super effective.  I have 4 little ones who get dirty and a husband who works in the water/sewer department, so things get pretty dirty before they get to my washing machine.

Materials Needed:

  • On Guard Laundry Soap

  • Large container (preferably with a spout)

  • Water

Directions:

  1. Take your bottle of On Guard Laundry soap and dump it into a bigger container.

  2. Take a butter knife and stick it into your container where you can then easily pop off the pour spout.

  3. Continue to dump rest of soap into bigger container.

  4. Pour in 32 oz of water.

  5. You now have equal parts soap to water.

  6. OPTIONAL: You can use the container to fill with water so you can get all possible soap out of the container.

  7. Warning: lots of bubbles but remember we are trying to stretch the dollar.

Wool Dryer Balls:

While we are on the topic, you should also go ahead and ditch those dryer sheets people!  Not only are they filled with ingredients you don't want in your home, but also is an expense you don't need to have.  Wool dryer balls will last you years and years.  Wool dryer balls + your essential oils = natural safe dryer sheets. (These are no longer available to buy from Doterra but many great brands out there in lots of places)

Hand Soap:

Similar to the laundry soap our hand soap again is made with On Guard and is highly concentrated.  We fill our foaming hand pump either half way or 3/4 full of soap and the rest with water.  It is just as effective in my opinion and allows our soap to last a lot longer.

Essential oils:

Less is always more.  Use less oil more frequently.  When we use 10 drops at a time our bodies are only using what it needs at that time and liver is flushing the rest out.  Many (including myself) would refer to ourselves as “oil over users” which really just is a waste to these amazing oils.  Another great way to stretch your oils is to make up rollers with fractionated coconut oil. This to helps us to use less more frequently not wasting our oils.
