4th of July Essentials

Fourth Of July Must Haves

4th of July Essentials

4th of July is always a fun holiday spent with family outdoors.  Lots of different festivals both big and small with usually a bbq or two to be hit up.  We always start the day off watching a parade, join in some of the town fun, followed by some pond or lake swimming and a bbq.  We always wrap up the the day with some good ol fireworks and are pretty hopeful we will actually be able to see fireworks from our own yard this year.  We love being outdoors so this holiday is usually packed full of fun in the sun for the whole family.

A few things that we always have in tow with us:

  • Sunscreen

    1. (Elkhaart natural sunscreen is the only kind we use) for daytime

  • Bug spray for nighttime

  • First Aid Kit we never leave home without it being prepared for any little emergency

  • Belly Buster Roller

    • lets be honest its a holiday packed full of yummy candy and treats that usually ends with a bit of regret.

    • 10ml roller = 5 drops Digestzen + 5 drops Wild Orange + topped with fractionated coconut oil

  • Lavender is hands down the best “burn cream” on the market.

    • Sun, Sparklers, Grill, you name it something always happens.

    • Put it directly on the area of concern you can add fractionated coconut oil if its a big area but for small burns we applied directly on to the location numerous times until the person gets relief.

  • Calming spray is one we use on the fur babies or littles that are petrified of those beautiful loud fireworks.

    • Remember it takes 20 minutes for every cell to be affected in the body so applying early and then reapplying before fireworks begins is a great idea.

    • 2 oz spray bottle= 1/2 filled with water + 1/2 filled with fractionated coconut oil + 10 drops Lavender + 10 drops Wild Orange + 10 drops Vetiver + 10 drops Frankincense

    • Spray into hands and give animals back paws a good rub down as well as their “mane” and belly.

    • Kids massage into feet, spine, and neck.  You can also spray on blanket, in the air, or on clothes too to help them to stay calm.

  • Festive outfits! It’s one of those holidays that is so fun to get dressed up in the colors we are proud of RED WHITE AND BLUE matching the whole family and town crowd.

Outdoor Essential Oil Safety

The sun is inviting and it’s often a boost our mood to go outside and get that natural vitamin D. However, be aware that some of your family’s favorite citrus oils should be avoided topically before direct sunlight or exposure to artificial UV rays.  Photosensitivity is real people I have seen it happen to to many people so please be safe.
