Bug Spray

DoTERRA makes a beautiful outdoor blend that is mixed and ready to combat against those pesky critters that come with enjoying the outdoors.

Terra shield includes:

Ylang Ylang
Tamanu
Nootka
Cedarwood
Lemon
eucalyptus
Litsea
Vanilla
Catnip
in a base of fractionated coconut oil making it safe to apply directly to your skin

You can buy it in a 15ml bottle or you can buy it in a 30ml convenient spray bottle. We buy both bottles and leave the 30ml in our car for using at the ballfields or when we forget our big bottle. Our big bottle is what we find has been the best option for our family.

Our Recipe:

We buy a 15ml bottle of Terrashield essential oil and dump the whole bottle into a 4oz glass spray bottle
then fill the empty 15ml bottle up with water a few times and with fractionated coconut oil a few times and continue to dump into the 4 oz glass bottle to be sure to get as much of the oil out of the 15ml bottle as possible.
Since we are in Iowa and have a lot of other fun critters like ticks that like to give us company we add a few other oils to really amp it up.
- Geranium, Lemongrass, Purify, Cedarwood, Peppermint, and Lavender being a few.
We like to use this recipe on our animals too to help protect them as well.

Homemade Bug Spray

4oz spray bottle
15ml bottle of Terrashield
10 drops Geranium
10 drops Lemongrass
10 drops Cedarwood
10 drops Purify
10 drops Peppermint
10 drops Lavender
Top with Water (optional to add a splash of fractionated coconut oil)
Shake before each use

This is what works best for us you make find that straight Terrashield works for the area that you are in. You may also find that you need less or more of some of the other oils that we add in. This blend we use in the thick of the woods when camping and have great results. Now that we live in the country I use this amped up version all the time.
